Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar biography
Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, was an Indian jurist, social reformer, and politician. He was the architect of the Indian Constitution and is considered the father of the Indian Republic. He was born on April 14, 1891, in the town of Mhow in what is now the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Ambedkar was born into a Dalit family, the most oppressed and marginalized group in the Indian caste system. Despite this, he was determined to get an education and worked hard to overcome his lower-caste status. He attended the Elphinstone High School in Bombay, where he was the only Dalit student. He then went on to attend the University of Bombay before going to the United States to pursue a doctoral degree.
Ambedkar was a pioneer in the fight for civil rights and equality for the Dalit community. He helped organize the Dalit Mahasabha, a political organization aimed at securing rights and respect for the Dalit community. He was also a leader of the Dalit Buddhist movement, which sought to provide a spiritual identity for the Dalits and to reject the Hindu caste system.
Ambedkar was appointed India’s first Law Minister in 1947, and he was instrumental in drafting the Indian Constitution. He also served as the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee. He was a strong advocate for the rights of women and other marginalized communities in India. He was also a strong critic of the Hindu caste system and campaigned for the abolition of untouchability.

Ambedkar died in 1956 at the age of 65. He is remembered today as one of the most influential social reformers in Indian history. His legacy lives on in the form of the many laws and constitutional rights he helped create, as well as in the hearts and minds of the millions of Indians who continue to fight for social justice and equality in India today.
